Use cases and practical choices
Frontend developers can copy CSS values, design handoffs can compare HEX and RGB, and content teams can prepare QR-code colors. This is a web color helper, without color calibration, print management or contrast assessment.
HEX to RGB example for CSS
The six digits after # contain three hexadecimal pairs: red, green and blue. Each pair maps to a value from 0 to 255. Enter the complete six-digit code; the color preview and read-only RGB and CSS fields update together.
#2563eb → rgb(37, 99, 235)
background-color: #2563eb;

HEX to RGB Color Converter & Picker
- Enter a six-digit HEX value such as #2563eb, or use the color picker.
- Copy the HEX, RGB or CSS background-color value.
Pick a color
- Use the color picker or enter a complete six-digit HEX such as #2563eb. RGB input, three-digit shorthand and HSL input are not supported.
- Check the preview and read-only RGB output, such as rgb(37, 99, 235), to confirm the input applied. Invalid HEX does not update the result as a valid color.
- Copy HEX, RGB or CSS background-color according to your destination. They represent the same selected color.
- Inspect the actual webpage, background or component. This page has no contrast test, print CMYK conversion or alpha-channel calculation, so it cannot establish text readability compliance.

How do HEX, RGB and CSS background-color differ?
HEX and RGB are numeric representations of the same color; background-color is a CSS declaration that applies it to a background. For example, #2563eb corresponds to rgb(37, 99, 235). Match the destination field rather than pasting a whole CSS declaration into a HEX-only input.
Why does pasting rgb(...), #fff or eight-digit HEX not update it?
Input accepts a hash-prefixed six-digit HEX or the picker. RGB is a read-only output, not a reverse-conversion field. Three-digit shorthand, alpha HEX and HSL are unsupported. Supply the complete six-digit form and do not mistake an unchanged old preview for the new input.
Does it verify brand print colors or accessibility contrast?
It helps compare common web color representations but does not provide print color management, CMYK or spot-color conversion, or foreground/background contrast evaluation. Displays and surroundings affect appearance. Use the relevant specifications and dedicated checks for brand or readability requirements.
How do I apply the result to a QR code or website?
Copy the representation accepted by the destination color field; use the CSS declaration for a webpage background when appropriate. A QR code still needs strong contrast and scan testing. The fact that two colors can be represented does not make their combination reliably scannable.
