Document Photo Straightener & Perspective Correction

Straighten angled photos of documents, receipts, forms and worksheets. Adjust four corners, choose color or black and white, and export JPG or A4 PDF locally.

Your files stay in the browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Best for approximately flat rectangular material. Four-corner correction cannot fully flatten curves or recover blur. Black and white can remove faint or colored detail. Check the preview and retain the original.

Use cases and practical choices

Office administration: prepare readable copies of photographed forms, notices, delivery acknowledgments and meeting handouts by removing surrounding desk space and correcting perspective.

Accounting and retail: organize flat receipts, expense attachments, price lists and product instructions. Inspect small print and totals before fitting a long document onto A4; use Straighten only when original colors or background patterns matter.

Maintenance and field records: straighten flat inspection forms, instruction signs and equipment plates for easier reading. The result is not a measurement reference and cannot unwrap a label around a cylinder.

Education and research: prepare worksheets, notes and flat book or archive pages. Image quality matters across every use case; improve the source when there is binding curvature, glare, missing corners or existing blur.

Perspective correction, paper cleanup and print export

  • Automatic page-edge detection with four manually adjustable corners
  • Correct perspective on approximately flat surfaces, beyond simple rotation or cropping
  • Choose straighten only, white paper with color, or black and white
  • Inspect the corrected preview before downloading
  • Export one image as JPG or a margin-fitted A4 PDF locally

How to straighten a document photo, step by step

  1. Start with a sharp photo showing all four corners. Lay the document flat, use the original image where possible, and avoid fingers, reflections and deep shadows. Select the image or drop it onto the page.
  2. Inspect the blue quadrilateral on the source image. Drag each blue handle onto the corresponding document corner if detection is inaccurate. Keep the corners in order without crossing the edges, and exclude the surrounding desk.
  3. Release a handle to refresh the result, then check straight text lines, complete edges and uncropped headings or stamps. Use Detect the page again to restart detection and adjust manually afterward. Click the output preview to inspect it at a larger size.
  4. Choose Straighten only to preserve the original tones while correcting perspective. White paper, keep color can reduce paper tint while retaining color content. Black and white suits dark text but may remove light pencil and colored details.
  5. After changing the mode, inspect small print, signatures, table lines, annotations and receipt totals. If important detail disappears or color changes, switch to Straighten only or take a better source photo.
  6. Download JPG for editing or inserting into a report. Download A4 PDF for printing; the tool chooses portrait or landscape from the corrected image and adds margins. The PDF contains an image, not selectable OCR text.
  7. Open the downloaded file and check its print preview before continuing. The tool processes one image at a time. For a multi-page document, export pages separately and use Merge PDF afterward; retain the original photos.

Straighten photo FAQ

Who can use this besides students and teachers?

Office teams can tidy photographed forms, meeting handouts and notices; accounting teams can prepare receipt photos; shops can straighten price lists, product instructions and flat labels; maintenance teams can organize inspection forms and flat equipment plates. Researchers can prepare flat archive pages. Suitability depends on a reasonably flat rectangular surface and image quality. Long receipts can become tiny on A4, and labels wrapped around a curved object cannot be fully flattened with four corners.

How is perspective correction different from rotating or cropping?

Rotation changes the direction of the whole image, while cropping removes the outside area. Neither corrects a page photographed as a trapezoid because the camera was at an angle. This tool maps the selected four-corner region onto a rectangle. It works best for a flat surface, not curved pages or three-dimensional objects, and the output is not a reliable basis for physical measurements.

Why does automatic detection select the desk or miss an edge?

Similar paper and background colors, missing corners, shadows, reflections or nearby rectangles can confuse detection. Move all four handles onto the actual document corners and inspect the output before downloading. If the result is still distorted, retake the photo with a contrasting background, a little space around every edge and the page laid flat.

Which mode should I use for colored stamps, signatures or annotations?

Start with Straighten only when preserving original tones matters. White paper, keep color adjusts brightness and paper tint, so inspect faint marks afterward. Black-and-white processing can remove light pencil, pale stamps and colored annotations. Retain the original photo and treat the edited file as a viewing copy; tonal cleanup does not establish the true original color.

Can it fix blur, deep shadows or a curved book gutter?

Perspective correction and paper cleanup are not AI detail restoration, OCR or curved-page unwarping. Some tint and uneven illumination may improve, but motion blur, poor focus, chat compression and missing content cannot be recovered. Curved text near a binding may remain bent. A sharper source photo with better lighting and a flatter page usually matters more than additional processing.

Should I download JPG or A4 PDF, and why is the print small?

JPG is useful for further editing, embedding in documents or sending as an image. A4 PDF fits the corrected image proportionally inside a page with margins. A long receipt or wide table therefore becomes smaller to fit. Check paper size and scaling in the print dialog. The PDF still contains an image; the text is not searchable or selectable.

Can I process multiple pages, and what resolution is exported?

The tool processes one image at a time and does not batch-correct photos or directly assemble a multi-page PDF. Export separate pages and combine their PDFs afterward. The output image has a maximum long edge of 2200 pixels. Quality still depends on the source and selected region; scaling does not create new detail. Inspect dense text and long receipts before relying on the exported copy.

Are files uploaded, and is my previous processing mode remembered?

Image decoding, corner adjustment and export run in the current browser; this tool does not upload your files to the site server. It remembers the last selected processing mode in local browser storage. Check that mode when opening another image, especially one that needs color preserved. Remembering a mode does not save a document: keep your downloaded result and original photo yourself.
